A keen observer of the natural world, Audrey St-Laurent wrote and directed Micromondes after several exploratory stays in the forest. Entirely shot in the studio, apart from the final sequence made in 3D, the short film is a contemplative reflection on our relationship with the ephemeral and our transition between the natural and digital worlds.

Having completed studies in visual and media arts, Audrey St-Laurent developed a practice in photography and video with a sculptural aspect that unites her various interests in new technologies and the environment. Her passion for the plant world led her to pursue studies in floristry, then to start her own business, where she created numerous installations in various event and film contexts. She then worked as a floral stylist and set art director, eventually becoming represented by L’ÉLOI, where she works on numerous shoots, now as a director. She’s simultaneously developing her practice in sculpture and digital arts, where she explores the relationship between the digital and physical materiality through ecological issues.
