Audrey constructs an imaginary pond for the launch of the Age of Union Earth Centre. A manifesto signed by Baillat Studio.
The aim was to imagine an environment of the future, one that had survived the presence of humans. In order to inspire change, we had to find a balance between the tension of the climate crisis and the beauty of the planet on which we live.
The challenge was to create a décor with plants in the studio that would neither represent a particular season nor climate, a sort of 'universal forest' that would transcend space. It was an idea that defied one of the fundamental traits of flora; that it should exist within a specific environment.
I integrated orchids into an aquatic environment even though these plants grow in the ground. It was fun to have the freedom to create a surreal ecosystem!
Water, a robot, flowers, a laser, a snake, fire… It was the project of my dreams!
These days, at a time when there is an immense volume of content, I think it’s possible to raise awareness and to bring people together using aesthetics.
