THE CLOCK

THE CLOCK

The blue curtain evokes elegance, mystery, theatre, it can be both conceal and reveal depending on perspective.

Olivia Chan, art director

Initially, the blue curtain was simply to be part of the decor for our new offices, and then it became the framework for our entire rebranding.

A key component of this rebranding is time:
The time passed since the creation of the studio;
The time to start a new chapter;
The time invested in a project for it to come alive: “Everything become unique given enough love”

When you take the time to do things properly, things happen that couldn’t happen otherwise.

One thing that fascinates me with David Lynch is that he can make a simple door handle appear strange and unsettling. The idea of how intention can transform our perception was one of the themes that guided this short film.

There’s a colour change that happens. It’s always satisfying to create an atmosphere with a certain colour and then suddenly, WHAM! Surprise with another colour. It’s something I really like when creating: the unexpected.

We like paradoxes, to be unpredictable and traditional at the same time; flamboyant and minimalist until the coexistence of blue and yellow in The Clock.

Olivia Chan, art director

The presence of yellow in The Clock was initially a mistake that then became central to the narrative.
