Developing technologies, hyperconnectivity and social networks leave very little space to connecting IRL. This is why Iregular floods public spaces: deserted and neglected, yet accessible to all. The challenge is to catch the attention of passers-by, thus going from passive to participating. End of Broadcast, Nor Mind, Omnipresence and Control no Control are three installations questioning our desensitization towards our surroundings. The artist connects the viewers to their surroundings and other viewers, through metaphor.
This switch from a person that is just living his life normally and becomes a participant of our installation is the biggest reward for us. That’s very powerful - especially when considering how hard it is to get people's attention nowadays.
IREGULAR
While people are interacting, other people are looking. This dynamic does help to activate public spaces and put them back as an important aspect of our cities and our society.
IREGULAR
In our work, there’s always this idea that we are too connected with data. The irony is that we question it by using technology and by asking people to connect and interact with our work. To us, experiencing a metaphor of our society is the most effective way to question it.
