23 billion shoes are thrown away every year. That’s why William is proud to support Way Running, a kickstarter committed to reducing footwear’s impact on the environment. Stepping in as photographer and director, William created the Montreal brand’s image in collaboration with GRDN. A local, environmentally-friendly and innovative initiative: what’s not to like?
William’s images are characterized by a distinct boldness, which he can skillfully draw from simple moments of day-to-day life. His approach is perfectly aligned with Way Running’s style and philosophy. Our intent was to work with someone who would be able to capture authentic moments without staging every aspect.

My first experience as a director felt quite natural. I tend to rely on movement and emotion in my photography, so it felt logical to relay these notions to my video work.

We wanted to see William’s vision in video form. He hadn’t had many opportunities to use the medium, and we loved that. Magic often happens when you take the talent outside of their comfort zone. William fit right into that dynamic thanks to his complete willingness to lend his talents.
