My interest for images first took shape through sports, mainly through snowboarding clips. Travel photography then became more present in my work, and finally evolved towards a focus on the representation of the harmony between human and nature.
I have very little inclination to depict the unique beauty of a landscape. My goal is to turn towards stories, the cultures and the people I encounter, which are all at once so diverse yet so similar. Nature impacts culture and culture impacts nature. This precious interrelatedness brings a relief to the beauty of nature that we are surrounded by.
Spontaneity plays a big role in my work. Yes, there are some general ideas that guide my camera lens, but the magic that occurs on location can never be planned. It’s a question of finding the balance between preparation and capturing the moment.
A story in nature which ultimately brings us back to mankind.
