
Very much so. As a child, I built sets and put my toys into different contexts. I love controlling the environment in which the photo is taken. I’m a master of my trade with still life. Lighting and form are my main interests. Actually, I’m interested in the fundamentals
Objects left behind, unconsumed scraps. Stuff we throw away, abandoned materials. I try to look at it from a positive standpoint, to make the beauty of it stand out. You only have to lean in to see that everything starts from there.
Experimenting. Going off an idea, testing things out, meeting obstacles, finding ways around them, discovering new paths. Arriving at an unexpected finish line.
I hope it’s for my instinct, my raw artistic sensibility, my interpretation of the basic idea, the unpredictable side of my work. What I’m able to bring out of the subject and what I add to it with my technique. I build sets, but I also build stories.
